dc.description.abstractThe renaissance os the nuclear option for generating electric energy is stimulated by its economic competititivenesss and its social and environmental benefits. Presently, nuclear energy is a key component to the rapid expansion of world electricity consumption. Drivers of the nuclar renaissance are (a) the growth of public acceptance as result of the historic demonstration of safety, (b) the economic competitiveness in the costs of generation, (c) the incorporation of innovations and technological advances with impacts on main barriers like the reducing of the capital investiments and technological solutions for destination of the radioactive wastes. The nuclear retaken already affects the international uranium market with records of negotiated volumes and a rise of prices. Brazil as detainer of some of the biggest reserves of uranium in the world has much to profit with this retaken.-
